Confirmed -- none of the four Paints had any source at all. Red, Yellow, Blue and Black Paint now drop from any monster while 'The Great Work of Art, the Beginning' is active, and the follow-up quest's Paintbrush and Blank Canvas are wired the same way so the chain does not dead-end one step later.
