JOB ADVANCEMENT
MapleVerse uses the original classic-era advancement track: five classes, four advancements. Talk to the class instructor with the requirement met, and the job is yours.
1st job — where it all starts
| Class | Level | Stat to raise | Instructor | Town |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 10 | STR | Dances with Balrog | Perion |
| Magician | 8 | INT | Grendel the Really Old | Ellinia |
| Bowman | 10 | DEX | Athena Pierce | Henesys |
| Thief | 10 | LUK | Dark Lord | Kerning City |
| Pirate | 10 | STR or DEX | Kyrin | Nautilus Harbor |
Ships from Maple Island land at Lith Harbor — every job town is a short walk or taxi from there. See the world guide for directions.
2nd job — level 30
Return to your 1st-job instructor, who sends you to a job instructor for a test (collect the dark marbles from the test grounds). Pass, and you choose your path:
- Warrior → Fighter, Page or Spearman
- Magician → Wizard (Fire/Poison), Wizard (Ice/Lightning) or Cleric
- Bowman → Hunter or Crossbowman
- Thief → Assassin or Bandit
- Pirate → Brawler or Gunslinger
Your weapon Booster and bread-and-butter attack skills live here — this is where your class really comes online.
3rd job — level 70
The trek to El Nath (ship to Orbis, then the tower down — see world travel). Your 3rd-job instructor tests both your strength (a fight against your instructor's dark self) and your wisdom (a riddle at the Holy Stone), then advances you: Crusader, White Knight, Dragon Knight, Mage (F/P), Mage (I/L), Priest, Ranger, Sniper, Hermit, Chief Bandit, Marauder or Outlaw.
4th job — level 120
The summit: speak to the sages in Leafre to become a Hero, Paladin, Dark Knight, Arch Mage, Bishop, Bow Master, Marksman, Night Lord, Shadower, Buccaneer or Corsair. 4th job skills are the strongest in the game — and some must be learned from mastery books.
SP tips
- You get 3 SP (Skill Points) per level. Open the skill window with K.
- Max your main attack skill early; mastery skills raise your damage floor and make training smooth.
- Skills with a level-0 requirement on another skill are greyed until the prerequisite is met — hover any skill for its real classic description.
