VESOS, TRADE & THE FREE MARKET
MapleVerse's currency is the Veso. Everything below is about making them, spending them, and keeping them safe.
Earning Vesos
- Monsters drop them — hold Z and vacuum the floor.
- Sell your loot — every town shop buys monster etc. drops. Equipment drops sell for the most.
- Quests — many of the ~1,400 quests pay Vesos on completion.
- Trade with players — the real economy. Rare drops are worth far more to another player than to an NPC.
The Free Market
Press the TRADE button on the status bar and you'll be whisked to the Free Market Entrance from anywhere in the world. Walk out the exit portal and you're returned to the exact map you came from — the FM is a hub, not a detour.
- Inside, players set up player shops — browse, haggle, get rich.
- To open your own shop you'll need a shop permit; stock it, price it, and it sells while you chat.
Direct trades
Double-click a player (or use the right-click menu) to open a trade window — both sides place items and Vesos, both confirm, the trade completes. Confirm screens exist for a reason: read them.
Storage
Every major town has a storage keeper NPC. Storage is shared across all characters on your account — it's how you mule items and Vesos between your characters. Small fee per use.
Fame
Press F... actually, fame is given from another player's character info — one +1 or −1 per day. Some shops and quests care about fame; mostly, it's about looking important in the rankings.
